DownStreamOne

Projecting Refining's Strategic Parameters

A new Service From EnSys Energy

DownStreamOne delivers data series and projections that are critical to refining and oil markets including refining utilizations, additions, investments, margins, CO2 emissions, crude oil and refined product differentials by region and crude stream valuations. These projections are for 1 to 15 years out.

DownStreamOne Features

In short it provides key strategic parameters for refiners, producers, investors and others involved in the downstream sector worldwide.

Versus simplified offerings that cover very limited numbers of crude streams, products and market regions, DownStreamOne offers a far more comprehensive and sophisticated approach. It encompasses total oil liquids - not just refining, is globally integrated and allows us to rapidly adjust to new scenarios and develop fresh outlooks.

DownStreamOne’s role is to deliver critical support for strategic decisions.

As such, it offers a unique capability. Firstly, each WORLD-based projection is internally integrated. Key supply and demand system interactions are captured. All data projections tie together.

Second, DownStreamOne offers a level of detail that goes beyond other services: more reported regions, pricing points, products and crudes.

Third, DownStreamOne delivers both “center line” and “high/low” outlooks to enable critical sensitivity analysis. In today's market it is impossible to claim a high probability for a "best fit" model to be accurate in the long-term. DownStreamOne delivers what is needed bracket the range for effective long term planning.

Background

The service is new but is based on our widely respected WORLD Model. EnSys has a 22-year track record of analyzing global refining and oil markets using WORLD.

Increasingly referred to as the industry standard in international downstream analysis, WORLD is used by the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, World Bank, OPEC, International Maritime Organisation, Bloomberg, major and specialty oil companies.

Global Reach

DownStreamOne offers global coverage of the downstream sector. Between ten different global pricing points, DownStreamOne includes 145 product and intermediate projected prices as well as 126 total differentials and crack spreads. Each of these is then projected out 15 years, resulting in over 4,000 different price points. This coverage is possible due to the integrated global nature of the WORLD model.

In addition, DownStreamOne includes projected pricing (versus a marker input crude price) for 43 crude streams with an additional 38 ready to be added upon client request. Further, with the provision of an accurate crude assay, EnSys is capable of adding any crude stream to the product.

For refinery operational information DownStreamOne includes 63 different parameters, some drawn from top-down or bottom-up databases and most projected using the WORLD model. Projected parameters include: utilization rates, new unit additions by unit type, implied closures, and refining investment. All data series are provided across 22 different refining regions which can be seen in the chart above.

With over forty crude stream differentials from around the world, product pricing in the ten most critical global markets for an array of products and intermediates and based on a model which integrates and iterates 22 different global supply/demand regions, DownStreamOne delivers the world.
